A bottle of Jose Cuervo, 8 bottles of Vodka Cruiser + overflowing pulutan + long night bonding - hangover = PERFECT! Ang SARAPPPP!

'twas last night when homebase family celebrated Junel's recognition as employee of the year and his upcoming promotion. We are really happy for him. And I am indeed, very proud of him.

I am loving my new phone. I am still not able to inform some other people on my previous contacts list because I completely lost contact with them.

To those who still don't know what happened, I left my phone on the cab going home, friday night. I don't have a choice but to secure a new one. Ok lang yung phone since its already old and starting to malfunction anyway. But all those contacts are pretty hard to restore. Masyadong hassle!

Anyway, now I have a new number. To all those people that I still haven't informed yet, you can message me here so I could get in touch with you :)

BLF is finally back home!

Friday night, i lost my phone.

I don't care about the phone. What matters to me are the contacts and messages i used to save.

Yesterday i bought a new one. But then, some contacts are difficult to restore.

But, looking at the brighter side of it, it's like starting a new life.

Excited for BLF's arrival tonight!

Pero as if magkikita naman kjami mamaya..

I could say that I am one of those lucky few who never had any single harm caused by the recent typhoon tragedy that hit the country. It is a Big Blessing. I am not one of those people who lost their homes, properties, families, loved ones, and I never experienced what other people had been through. Some, until now remains to be "unrescued"

I am lucky i still have my home. I never lost a family or a loved one. We are all safe and sound. This is already a Blessing that I have to be thankful for.

To give it back, I joined volunteer works, in any way possible to extend my help and to reach those who are in need.

Prayer is the best that I can give.

Though sometimes i have this guilt feeling whenever I eat a lot, go shopping and managed to pamper myself at this time while everyone else is in a recovery stage.

This is a wake-up call for everyone, for all of us.

I realized, that inspite of every problems that I have, there are more things to be thankful for. HE just thought me the real meaning of appreciating life... and counting every single thing and person in your life as a blessing.

This time, without any tiring and stressfull training, no toxic work involved, I finally had the real "taste" of Singapore.

This is actually the "little surprise" that I mentioned on the previous post. Since BLF left for Singapore and we had a long ditance besty talks almost everyday, might as well fly and give a surprise visit!

Saturday when I booked the flight and then Sunday afternoon, I boarded a three and a half hour flight to Singapore.

I stayed at their flat along Yusin Ring Road, which I am actually missing so much, right about now.

Sentosa tour, Buffet Dinner at Quality Hotel, House Party, Esplanade, Merlion, Shopping at Bugis, New Your New York lunch, MRT, Bus and Train Rides.... it was indeed, a memorable weekend for me.

Most of all, I am happy I was able to fulfill the main reason why I made a visit: To check on my BLF and to see her happy.

See you in December!

about to fly

i am preparing for a little surprise tonight. something that someone wouldn't expect to happen. something so abrupt. and i am excited.

you'll now in the next copule of days...

Sarap ng may bestfriend...

pero nasa malayo sya...

it's the 30th Manila International Book Fair. An annual event that Cengage Learning joins as an exhibitor. And here I am, on duty since yesterday. While everyone else is on their way to Hanna's (Kuya Rey's daughter) 1st birthday at McDo West Ave, i am here alone at our booth.

It's ok. I guess as the newbie, I have all the reasons to stay here. Next year babawian ko kung sino man ang newbie sa amin. Hehe. Its good that I have a laptop and a Sun Broadband to accompany me for the day.

This is my last day of duty for the fair... tomorrow i will be "somewhere out there".. a bit far from here, and I am excited.

I can't understand why some "friends" afford to talk something "not so good" about me behind my back when in fact they can ask me about it anyway. Why suddenly, after everything, I would hear some questions about what am I doing recently. Well I guess, it is just right to say that I don't have to explain and let everybody knows what am I up to.

I can answer all your doubts about what am I doing, my dear. All you have to do is to ask me.

I will post pics and details of it soon, dont worry.

this is my extended family... and i loved them so much...

celebrating my 29th bday with them is something to treasure... for keeps.

Daddy is leaving for the states on November. For good. They already have their immigrant visas and they need to leave before the year ends.

Long overdued posts.

I haven't been posting the "latests" lately because:

1. Busy
2. I am not bringing this laptop home
3. Busy
4. Still so busy.

My last post as i reviewed was my last day in Phuket. I thought of posting the Chapter 5 part, all about going back home here in Manila. But I thought it was a long overdued thing anyway. There's nothing much to tell anyway aside from the 3-hour delayed flight of PAL from bangkok to Manila. And the shopping experience at Bangkok Airport where Abby and I have to eat the gelos we bought because they wouldn't allow us to bring it during our boarding time.

Done with Phuket fever. :) Back home here in Manila.

Working with Cengage has never been this fun. Although I am overly loaded with work right now, I find it more and more enjoyable everyday. It was amazing how I found myself a little more productive everyday, hehehe, with best workmates ever.

And yes, I am LOVING my new job. :)

A friend left for Singapore for a job. Sad she's not here on my 29th. :( BLF is also leaving soon. I will be left alone :(

A so-called "friend" is also making a scene in my life as of the moment. I dont why in the world is HE becoming so affected with my life's dramas. Envious maybe but it doesn't make any sense at all.

Should I be looking forward in the next two weeks?

I dunno but lately, I am often feeling sad.

With less than 4 hours of sleep from the ASM Staff Party, I woke up at 7am for the 8:30am Publishing, Rights and VR Sessions. This is going to be a long day for me. With Publishing & Righs Sessions from 8:30am - 4pm, followed by VR Session from 5pm - 6:30, Dinner by 7-9 and may humabol pang isang meeting with India people by 10pm.

I got dressed up, had buffet breakfast at the Hotel's lobby and then went straight to the session room. This is going to be my first time to be involved in a meeting with colleagues all over Asia. Kinda nervous but looking forward.

The moment I entered the room, I asked Abby as to where we will sit. She told me to look for my assigned seat and I saw this:

I got so excited. It was a "wow" feeling. Since day 1 of my arrival on this event, i felt the sense of belongingness. Everyone was just so warm and so so kind and friendly.

The session lasted as it was scheduled. I learned a lot. I then get the clearer view of the workflow and more understanding of the business.

After the sessions, we had dinner at Banana Corner, a native resto at Phuket. Although most of us got disappointed because of the poor slow service. It took us 3 hours waiting for the foods to be served. Nalipasan kami ng gutom. But nevertheless, ok na rin coz we got to taste some of it. :(

And then back to the hotel, we pushed through with meeting with Priya and Sanjay of India. It was just a short meeting. A chance for us to meet the people behind our constant emails. :)

It was literally a long day for us. We even planned of going into a massage but that doesn't fit in the schedule. :(

and we're going back home the next day.

Inspite of the whole "laboy" day for us, still we are all prep up for the night's ASM Party. This year's theme: Summer. This is my first ASM Party Experience. It's my first time to mingle with colleagues from other branch offices.

Our group had a final dance practice at the venue before dressing up. Then afterwards, we went up to our respective rooms, get dressed and all ready to party!

We entered the venue in our dance costumes, which we also wear all throughout the night. Then, there they were: all the Cengage Learning Peeps from all over Asia. Also present were the people from Australia and New Zealand.

We were able to occupy the front seat. The venue was perfectly set with a summer feel. everyone was happy to meet and greet each other. Buffet dinner was served and I was kinda overwhelmed with seafoods. Overflowing prawns, crabs, lobsters and other Thai delicacies. Wines were served all throughtout the party.

Then comes the presentation of every offices. We, the Philippines Team were the 5th to perform. We performed a dance medley of the ff: Lady Marmalade>Macho Macho Man>Soulja Boy>Single Ladies> I Like to Move It Move It>Jai Ho.

And this dance number grabbed the winning performance of the night:

We won Cash and a swatch wristwatch for each of us.

Other winning teams are Japan and Taiwan.

It was also during the party when various awards are given to respective employees who excel during the year.

Then party till morning.

I enjoyed the party. It was a different experience for us. So overwhelming. With good and cool colleagues, super bait na mga boss and directors, i have nothing more to ask in a job.

We went to bed at 3am but some of my officemates have to stay awake because they are scheduled to go home here in the Philippines 5am of that day. So, straight from the party, they headed to the airport...

I spent my first night alone in my room because Evelyn, my assigned room mate from Singapore arrived the day after.

July 25, 2009. Saturday.

It was a free day for everyone!

I woke up 7am TH time and saw that it was still dark. So i slept for another 1 hour. 8am when i went up to Ate Cy and Ate Susan's room and saw there LC asking them to went out and go around.

We all met at the lobby for the buffet breakfast. With choices of fruits, cereals, rice, pancakes, sausages, bacons, etc. We were also joined by other collegues from other countries in our table.

After breakfast we head off to the beach! The sands are not as white as Boracay but the view was amazing. Clear, blissful, peace, a quiet place to stay. We were not allowed to swim at the beach because of the big waves. So we just have our group pictorial session! *grin* We were even joined by William and Geoffrey, our colleagues from Malaysia and Indonesia.

After experiencing the beach, its time to conquer the pool! Hilton has 3 huge pools and we tried all of them! While some of the group changes into their swimming suits, I, daina and joy stroll over and had pictorial at hotel's pagoda and spa area.

over the pool, we are so aliw with Ate Susan's underwater camera *big grin*

After swimming we pampered ourselves to steam bath and sauna at the spa. it was oh so relaxing! we stayed at the steam bath for 15 minutes and 5 minutes at the sauna. :)

And then we're off to lunch!

Here is where we had our lunch. I had chicken basket and fresh coconut which made me really busog because of the big chicken serving. Everyone was satisfied. And to commend the thai waiter for his very efficient service.
After lunch is shopping time. We ride a tuktuk going to Karon Place where there is a big tiangge. But then prices are so expensive compared to Bangkok. It was priced triple from the regular. So, we really haven't gotten that much. I just bought a dress, just so I could have something from the place.
Then we went back to the hotel for an hour of rest.. getting ready for the Staff Party.
