Long overdued posts.
I haven't been posting the "latests" lately because:
1. Busy
2. I am not bringing this laptop home
3. Busy
4. Still so busy.
My last post as i reviewed was my last day in Phuket. I thought of posting the Chapter 5 part, all about going back home here in Manila. But I thought it was a long overdued thing anyway. There's nothing much to tell anyway aside from the 3-hour delayed flight of PAL from bangkok to Manila. And the shopping experience at Bangkok Airport where Abby and I have to eat the gelos we bought because they wouldn't allow us to bring it during our boarding time.
Done with Phuket fever. :) Back home here in Manila.
Working with Cengage has never been this fun. Although I am overly loaded with work right now, I find it more and more enjoyable everyday. It was amazing how I found myself a little more productive everyday, hehehe, with best workmates ever.
And yes, I am LOVING my new job. :)

A friend left for Singapore for a job. Sad she's not here on my 29th. :( BLF is also leaving soon. I will be left alone :(

A so-called "friend" is also making a scene in my life as of the moment. I dont why in the world is HE becoming so affected with my life's dramas. Envious maybe but it doesn't make any sense at all.

Phuket Chapter 4: Publishing, Rights & VR Session and last Thai Dinner
0 comments Posted by daei at 4:54 PMWith less than 4 hours of sleep from the ASM Staff Party, I woke up at 7am for the 8:30am Publishing, Rights and VR Sessions. This is going to be a long day for me. With Publishing & Righs Sessions from 8:30am - 4pm, followed by VR Session from 5pm - 6:30, Dinner by 7-9 and may humabol pang isang meeting with India people by 10pm.
I got dressed up, had buffet breakfast at the Hotel's lobby and then went straight to the session room. This is going to be my first time to be involved in a meeting with colleagues all over Asia. Kinda nervous but looking forward.
The moment I entered the room, I asked Abby as to where we will sit. She told me to look for my assigned seat and I saw this:
I got so excited. It was a "wow" feeling. Since day 1 of my arrival on this event, i felt the sense of belongingness. Everyone was just so warm and so so kind and friendly.
The session lasted as it was scheduled. I learned a lot. I then get the clearer view of the workflow and more understanding of the business.
After the sessions, we had dinner at Banana Corner, a native resto at Phuket. Although most of us got disappointed because of the poor slow service. It took us 3 hours waiting for the foods to be served. Nalipasan kami ng gutom. But nevertheless, ok na rin coz we got to taste some of it. :(
And then back to the hotel, we pushed through with meeting with Priya and Sanjay of India. It was just a short meeting. A chance for us to meet the people behind our constant emails. :)It was literally a long day for us. We even planned of going into a massage but that doesn't fit in the schedule. :(
and we're going back home the next day.
Inspite of the whole "laboy" day for us, still we are all prep up for the night's ASM Party. This year's theme: Summer. This is my first ASM Party Experience. It's my first time to mingle with colleagues from other branch offices.
Our group had a final dance practice at the venue before dressing up. Then afterwards, we went up to our respective rooms, get dressed and all ready to party!
We entered the venue in our dance costumes, which we also wear all throughout the night. Then, there they were: all the Cengage Learning Peeps from all over Asia. Also present were the people from Australia and New Zealand.
We were able to occupy the front seat. The venue was perfectly set with a summer feel. everyone was happy to meet and greet each other. Buffet dinner was served and I was kinda overwhelmed with seafoods. Overflowing prawns, crabs, lobsters and other Thai delicacies. Wines were served all throughtout the party.
Then comes the presentation of every offices. We, the Philippines Team were the 5th to perform. We performed a dance medley of the ff: Lady Marmalade>Macho Macho Man>Soulja Boy>Single Ladies> I Like to Move It Move It>Jai Ho.
And this dance number grabbed the winning performance of the night:
We won Cash and a swatch wristwatch for each of us.
Other winning teams are Japan and Taiwan.
It was also during the party when various awards are given to respective employees who excel during the year.
Then party till morning.
I enjoyed the party. It was a different experience for us. So overwhelming. With good and cool colleagues, super bait na mga boss and directors, i have nothing more to ask in a job.
We went to bed at 3am but some of my officemates have to stay awake because they are scheduled to go home here in the Philippines 5am of that day. So, straight from the party, they headed to the airport...
